Findon Downs DTC are pleased to be hosting a heat of the Nationwide Scruffts 2008 Competition.  This is the third year that the Kennel Club have co-ordinated the competition with all proceeds of Scruffts Classes going to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust.  Heats take place from February to October, 2008 with the Grand Final being held at Discover Dogs at Earls Court  on Sunday 9th  November, 2008.

The competition’s primary aim is to unite all crossbreed dogs around the UK and to promote the special relationship with Man’s Best Friend.  When deciding on the winner of each class, the Judge should ensure that the dogs have the following qualities:-  good character, good health, good personality, good temperament with people and other dogs and they are well behaved.

Scruffts rosettes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class.  Only 1st place winners in each class will be eligible for the final in November, however in the event of 1st place winners not being available to attend the final then 2nd or 3rd place winners will be invited to attend.

Findon Downs DTC – Demonstration Team

The Demonstration Team comprises dogs of all breeds and all ages and shows just what you can achieve with reward based training and a bit of persistence.  The dogs are all at different stages of their training but they have one thing in common – they all look forward to Demo Training Practice!  They love the Agility work and as for Flymouse – they would keep going all day!

The question really is who has the most fun, the Handler, the Dog or  the Audience.

We make a collection after each Demonstration which goes to The Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare at Ringmer in East Sussex.
